Legal
Cookie Policy
How this website uses cookies and local storage — as it stands today, and what will be finalised before launch.
Provisional document
This policy will be finalised — with legal review where appropriate — before the site launches. It reflects the site as it exists during development, including the consent-gated Tawk.to widget described below.
Current status of this website
This site is under development. Analytics and advertising scripts are not enabled, and the site sets no tracking cookies. The optional Tawk.to live chat widget is disabled by default and loads only after you explicitly accept chat cookies (see below).
Standard technical logging needed to serve pages securely (for example, request logs held by the hosting environment) remains possible at the infrastructure level; the final version of this policy will describe it precisely.
Essential storage for website functionality
This website uses the browser's localStorage for essential functionality that does not track or identify you:
- Chat consent preference: Your choice regarding the optional Tawk.to live chat widget (Accept / Decline) is stored in
localStorageunder the keyscalenta-consent. This allows the site to remember your preference across visits and page navigations without using cookies. - No essential cookies: The website itself does not set any first-party cookies that are strictly necessary for its operation. All essential state is managed via
localStorageor kept in memory during your session.
Optional third-party live chat (Tawk.to)
This website integrates Tawk.to, a third-party live chat service. The chat widget is disabled by defaultand will only load after both of the following conditions are met:
- Valid Tawk.to Property and Widget IDs are configured (the public IDs are fixed in the site's source configuration).
- You, the visitor, explicitly consent by clicking
Accept chat cookies
in the consent banner or by enabling theLive chat
toggle in the footer.
If the widget loads, Tawk.to may set cookies and process data such as your IP address, browser information, and chat session data to provide the live chat functionality. Tawk.to's own privacy policy governs their data handling:
https://www.tawk.to/privacy-policy
Your consent preference is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to our servers. You can change your preference at any time via theLive chat
toggle in the site footer, or by clearing your browser data for this site.
Important: When you revoke consent (by clicking Disable
in the footer or clearing your browser data), the website performs a full page reload to clear the Tawk.to widget and its in-memory state. This reload does not delete cross-origin cookies that Tawk.to may have already set — those remain under Tawk.to's control and will expire according to their own policy, or you can clear them manually via your browser's cookie management tools.
Future analytics and marketing cookies
No analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies are currently active on this site. If such integrations are added in the future, they will only be enabled after:
- The owner approves the specific integration and its purpose.
- This policy is updated to describe what cookies are set, why, and how long they persist.
- Visitor consent is obtained where required by applicable law.
This section will be expanded with specific cookie names, durations, and purposes before any such integration is enabled.
How consent preferences work
Your preferences for the Tawk.to live chat widget are managed through a consent banner (shown when the widget is configured but you haven't made a choice) and a footer toggle (labelled Live chat
).
- Accept: Grants consent, loads the Tawk.to widget, and stores
chat: trueinlocalStorage. - Decline: Stores
chat: falseinlocalStorage; the widget never loads. - Revoke (Disable): Sets
chat: false, triggers a full page reload to unload the Tawk.to widget and its state, and the consent banner reappears on the next visit. - Clear browser data: Removes the
scalenta-consentkey fromlocalStorage; the consent banner reappears on the next visit.
The consent preference is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers. It persists until you change it or clear your browser data for this site.
Your choices
Because no tracking cookies or analytics are active today, there is nothing to access or delete yet. When data collection begins, this section will explain how to request access, correction or deletion, and how to contact Scalenta about privacy matters. Until direct contact details are confirmed, the contact page is the way to reach us.
